Because It’s Where You Love To Live

Homeowners’ Insurance

More than just a piece of property, your home is likely to be your most important investment. You will want to protect your property with Homeowners’ Insurance coverage. In addition, your home may require insurance coverage as mandated by your mortgage lender or state regulations.

Because we are familiar with the needs of the people in the community we serve, we are your best source for Homeowners’ Insurance. Your Marcum & Associates Agent can help you understand the types of coverage that you may require and will develop the customized policy and help you find the insurance provider that will best serve your needs.

Some special considerations could include:

Dwellings & Other Structures

Your dwelling is your home, which often includes any attached structures. This may also include detached structures that are on the property. Many rural dwellings have one or more out buildings that should be itemized in your homeowner’s policy.

Personal Property

This includes furnishings, clothes, appliances, computers, etc. When you own valuable art, jewelry or other hard-to-replace items, you may want to add coverage against theft or loss for these possessions to your homeowner’s policy. You also may choose to protect your home against such natural disasters as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes. These special coverages are known as amendments, riders or endorsements. While they add to the cost of the policy, they can give you peace of mind.

Liability & Medical Insurance

Liability coverage pays for accidental bodily injury or property damage for which you are responsible. When a person is injured while on your property, this insurance pays for his medical costs and covers your liability within specified limits.

Living Expenses

If your home is damaged so much that you need to live elsewhere for a period of time, this coverage helps pay for additional expenses until you are able to return to your home.

Condominium Insurance

When you own a condominium or co-op, you will discover that you have specialized insurance needs. The condominium association will usually have a “master policy” that covers liability and damage to the common areas shared with other residents, including the roof, basement, elevator and walkways.

Your Marcum & Associates agent will review the association’s master policy and customize an insurance policy for you to cover personal possessions, structural improvements to the unit, certain liabilities and other issues not addressed by the master policy.

Renters’ Insurance

While your landlord’s insurance policy covers your dwelling, you need to understand that it does not cover your personal property. Renters’ Insurance, also known as Tenants’ Insurance, provides inexpensive coverage for your personal property in the event of hurricanes, theft or other problems. Your Marcum & Associates agent can help you choose from numerous affordable options to protect your valuables

Mobile Homes

Your mobile home and/or manufactured home represents a major investment that you want to protect. Marcum & Associates represent one of the nation’s leading mobile home insurers. We can provide coverages that are designed specifically for mobile homes so you get more value and better security.
